Digital health

In recent years, Digital health has been taking center stage in the health services. With rapid development in technology, digital health has been used to deliver quality medical services to remote settings and resource-scarce areas. PHIT uses participatory design, centering on the users and patients to deliver practical solutions to the challenges that face the sector. PHIT has a pool of highly skilled experts around the following thematic areas in digital health.

Health information systems

Information is crucial in planning and delivering high-quality services to clients, both in rural and urban settings. From the use of routine monitoring systems, electronic medical records, and community health intervention tools, PHIT works closely with the Ministry of Health to develop a more integrated solution based on the existing MoHCDGEC architecture and complimenting on the areas that have not been fully grown but crucial for reaching people in communities.

Digital solution for Health intervention

From decision support tools to referral tracking systems and telehealth, Digital health for program support has been growing more over the years. With the practicability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of these tools, their adoption has been phenomenal by many governments and implementing partners. PHIT is scaling up digital solutions further in partnership, in a more coordinated way, bringing together Implementing partners and health sector stakeholders to build integrated systems that will bring more visibility and cost-effective implementation and use of the tools.

Geographical Information Systems

GIS has been under-utilized and more often has not been used as one of the key decision support tools in planning and implementation of health interventions. With the continued availability of spatial information, GIS can play an important row in determining the trends and patterns of certain behavior in our communities. PHIT has a mix of analysts and GIS experts who brings these two realities together to better visualize the gaps and make efficient interventions, this might be, trends in HIV, malaria prevalence, access to care, and retention issues. PHIT works to train partners, MOH officials at district levels, and other decision-makers on how to effectively utilize these tools in decision making

e-Learning

As access to quality education and knowledge refreshment training is crucial for the health service providers, PHI-Tanzania is taking center stage by working with the ministry of health and other key local and international partners to develop the online materials and make them available through different channels to reach the intended participant more efficiently. With self-paced advantage, health workers of different cadre can have their tailored schedules to update their skills and share knowledge with their counterparts.

Digital health Sustainability

PHIT uses communities of practice that help to nurture the home-grown solutions to the problems that the country faces in the health sector. We intend to bring together innovators, digital health enthusiasts, students, implementing partners, and different incubators to mentor and support local initiatives for sustainability. PHIT will also explore the global solutions that are efficient and cost-effective for quick adoption, learning, and implementation
